I studied the flute at the Royal College of Music in London, where I was lucky enough to be taught by Eddie Walker and to have chamber music coaching from, among others, Colin Bradbury and Marisa Robles. I also studied the piano, with a particular emphasis on piano accompaniment.
My further studies were with Peter Lloyd and Trevor Wye at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
After leaving college I spent some years in London working mainly as a freelance player and also teaching. Since then I have played and taught in Gloucestershire, Devon and Cambridgeshire. I have now happily returned to live and work in Devon.
I have an ARCM diploma, Qualified Teacher status and full CRB clearance. I also have an honours degree in Physics from Newcastle University.
I am married with three children and four grandchildren and I enjoy photography and walking on Dartmoor.
